Counseling doesn’t have to be scary. You’ve been unsure about consulting a counselor near you, and you’ve put it off until you have run out of ideas. And when you think about talking to a professional, you worry they will think you are sick, crazy, or weak. And most of all, you are worried the counselor will ask you to do something you don’t know how to change.
I see your potential, even when you don’t. While you may not feel immediate relief in counseling, it is an invitation to greater awareness and motivation. And when you turn your doubt into determination, you will find the courage you didn’t know existed.
Are you ready to have someone coach you to reach your personal and relationship goals?
Welcome, I’m Marci Payne, and I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Board Certified Clinical Psychotherapist.
I coach you not only from my professional experience and training, but also from my own personal and relationship experience as a mother, wife, and oldest sibling in my family. I believe in using humor and being real with you. And I believe you are the expert on yourself even if you feel completely lost and stuck right now.
I won’t ever tell you what to do or not to do. Instead, I will coach you step-by-step until you find a solution or strategy that works for you. In counseling, you learn to trust yourself again in the face of challenges. You will see choices you never knew you had and can build resilience and sureness of self.
What kind of therapy do I practice?
I truly believe I can only coach you as far as I can get myself. So I’ve done extensive post-graduate training in Bowen Family Systems theory. I help people understand themselves and their relationships and consider how problems are co-created.
With increased awareness, you can stop taking all the blame or stop giving all the blame. And then you can let go of anger and guilt that you may have held onto for years. You replace it with renewed confidence that you can have more control over your happiness and choices, even in the face of life and relationship challenges.
